Most anime fans will advise you to start with Death Note if you’re new to the genre. Death Note is a well-known manga series created by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata that has astonished readers with its plot, gripping drama, and, well, everything. The protagonist is a teenage genius named Light Yagami, who one day on the grounds of his school finds a curious notebook. It turns out to be Death Note, a magical object that Ryuk, the God of Death, dropped in his path. The book places a great deal of responsibility on its keeper and has the ability to instantly kill anyone in the world after writing their name in it. We will talk about Death Note Season 2 in this article.
Even the owner of the notebook will perish if their name appears within its pages. The 37-episode anime adaptation had its Japanese premiere in October 2006 and ran until June 2007. One of the most well-liked animes on Netflix, the show is available by subscription. It has received over 2.1 million votes on MyAnimeList, giving it a total rating of 8.63/10. The audience is in desperate need of Death Note Season 2, and they are impatiently awaiting any news from the show’s creators on the start of production. This article will inform you of all Death Note Season 2 information and let you know whether or not the follow-up will be released.
Death Note Has Been ‘RULING’ The World!
The two major characters of the show are Light Yagami, a high school genius who is dissatisfied with his life’s success, and Ryuk, a shinigami who controls human destiny and is in possession of the Death Note. Since Ryuk is similarly bored, he chooses to leave his Death Note on Earth. Light finally finds it and takes possession of the notebook. Everyone whose name is in the book passes away in less than 30 seconds. Light initially dismisses the idea as a joke but decides to give it a shot, killing a criminal by entering his name in the book. Within five minutes, the book can also be used to specify the manner and time of death.
Light is on the rampage, aiming to annihilate every terrible person on the globe and take over as its supreme deity. The Police Department names L to lead the investigation since they believe someone may be responsible for all of these strange fatalities, which are all caused by heart attacks. Even the first of many attempts by L to learn his true identity from his alter persona, Kira, are illuminated by light. Light reduces his own age by half by trading shinigami eyes with Ryuk in order to keep more awake. The light deceives L and the Police Department by using his victims, never revealing to them who Kira really is. Since Light is the son of a well-known police officer, L put him under surveillance to make sure he is not Kira.
The bright young man wins L and his team’s trust and gradually joins them in their mission to capture Kira. Light deftly assassinates the group L assembled to find Kira. He also encounters Penber’s fiancé, who wants to discover Kira’s identity in order to uncover Kira’s involvement in her partner’s murder. But she also receives a tragic fate. L even enrols at the same university as Light in order to keep a close eye on him. L also plays tennis with Light in order to learn more about him and his resemblance to Kira. The friendship between Light and L develops into a blind trust that ultimately results in Light killing L with the help of the death note.
One of the rules of the death note, which Light frequently employed in season one to help him elude the police, is that if it is disallowed by the owner, the recipient will forget everything about it. To clear the pair of any suspicions, he and his girlfriend Mira had to even be taken into custody. Light has a new rival for L’s position in the form of Near, but Light is prepared to pursue any goals. By the conclusion, we can see Near executing his plan to degrade and expose Kira. During his conversations with Kiyomi, Light approaches the final phase. The discussion becomes quite heated, and Light is defeated by Near and revealed to be Kira. Light Yagami’s death brings the season to a close, leaving those who put their trust in him with unanswered questions that, should it materialise, could be addressed in Death Note Season 2.

“Death Note” Will Not Stop After Light Yagami! Are we getting Death Note Season 2?
The beginning of “Death Note: Special One Shot,” which features Ryuk’s return to the real world, provided us with some plot ideas. The narrative claims that Minoru Tanaka, a middle school student who is equally smart as Light, is approached by Ryuk and given the death note. Ten years have passed since the Kira incident, and people are now more conscious of how to prevent similar incidents. The top-scoring Japanese student is expected to follow in the footsteps of Light Yagami, but instead, he returns the notebook and requests that Ryuk come back in two years.
Minoru receives the notebook when he starts high school but has no plans to use it. He sells the notebook to an unidentified bidder with the aid of the shinigami and his cleverness, despite the fact that he was being watched and foretold by Near, the person who had vanquished light in the previous season. The United States of America eventually purchases the book, and does so at a price that will allow future generations of a family to live happy lives. However, Ryuk, the King of Death, is not going to allow this to happen without a fight. He invents a new Death Note rule that upends Minoru’s intentions and those of the US President.
When Will Death Note Season 2 Arrive?
Fans have been inquiring frequently about the news of Death Note Season 1’s sequel since it was released more than 15 years ago. Sadly, Death Note Season 2 has not yet received an official confirmation from the show’s creators. The series is hugely popular and is sure to succeed when it returns. As the manga has 108 chapters, which were virtually entirely covered in season one, we may deduce that this may be due to a shortage of sources from the manga. After Kira has been alive for ten years, the tale continues in “Death Note: Special One Shot,” which was released in February 2020. It contains enough material for Death Note Season 2 to be produced. We do not currently have a definitive premiere date or a teaser for the programme, but we will keep you informed as soon as new information becomes available.
