Sweet Home, the fatal South Korean haunting sitcom, has been extended for a Season 2 and, surprisingly, a Season 3 at Netflix. The series’ first season will premiere on the streaming service in December 2020. It is a Netflix original Korean drama based from a webtoon of the same name. Lee Eungbok developed the webtoon. This article will go through Sweet Home Season 2.
The name would imply a very nice, tranquil, and typical series, yet the series is far from the notion of “Sweet.” Sweet Home might be considered K-reaction drama’s to the Horror-Fantasy genre. It has spine-chilling horror moments, exciting special effects, action-packed segments, and a large ensemble cast.

The plot of Sweet Home
The story follows Cha Hyun-soo, who settles into a shabby apartment complex following the sad loss of his family. He is isolated socially and does not want to live. He wants nothing more than to commit suicide.
As he begins to reside in the flat, odd and mysterious things begin to occur in his building. His neighbours begin to transform into monsters. When an underprivileged group, including Hyun-soo, sees this life-threatening scenario, they band together to fight for their lives. The group consists of Hyun-soo, Eun-hyuk, his sister Eun-yu, and Ji-Su, a musician.
The whole plot has a number of Oxymorons. The housing complex is nothing like a “Sweet Home.” The residents transform into monsters, and the apartment building is unpleasant, filthy, ancient, and cramped. Sweet Home is a harsh, gloomy, sardonic, and depressing series in general.
There are some nice and tranquil sequences throughout the series, but they don’t stay long, and the story becomes darker and darker with each step. Throughout the series, the characters constantly defining and emphasising the contrasts between humans and monsters by revealing their humanity.
The series’ storyline also falls short at times. It doesn’t say why the neighbours turn into monsters. As the reason, the series represents our materialistic wants.
How is it different from other K-dramas?
The majority of other K-dramas are centred on romance and soft themes. Sweet Home, on the other hand, is unique from the other K-dramas, first because it is haunting and gloomy, and second because it has very laudably attempted to adapt a popular webtoon into a real-looking programme and to life.
It’s packed with intriguing happenings, thrilling moments, and a slew of fantastic special effects and images. It is not your normal K-drama romantic cliche. So, if you want a departure from the usual soft K-dramas, die-hard Korean drama lovers should definitely watch this series.
Has the production of Sweet Home Season 2 started?
Sweet Home has been officially confirmed for Seasons 2 and 3. Netflix took 18 months to confirm that Sweet Home Season 2 is presently in production. So it’s official now. Sweet Home Season 2 is back.
In March 2022, several photographs from the series were spotted on Song Kang’s manager’s Instagram account. However, nothing concerning the renewal of Sweet Home Season 2 was announced at the time. There were several debates over the image’s validity. However, now that the renewal has been verified, there is no longer any question or disagreement.
Expected Plot of Sweet Home Season 2
The conclusion of the first season left many questions for the second season. Before the end of Sweet Home Season 1, viewers saw Sang-Wook die in a pool of his own blood after attempting to assist Yu Ri.
The story twist is finally witnessed by Cha Hyun Soo waking in a military vehicle piloted by a perfectly fine Sang-Wook. So we may deduce that either Sang-Wook had his own Metamorphosis and entered the Golden Hour before his metamorphosis into a monster, or Myeong took control of Sang-dead Wook’s corpse.

We may predict that it won’t be long until Sweet Home Season 2 is available on Netflix, given production has been formally announced and may as well have started. Season 1 shooting lasted 8 months, beginning in June 2019 and ending in February 2020.
So, if production on Sweet Home Season 2 begins in June 2022, we may anticipate it to be finished by February or March 2023. As a result, we might see Sweet Home around early or mid-2023.
